You also gain more muscles if you eat foods that are rich in protein like lean meat together with a regular muscle building workout routine.

Assuming that you are
1. eating enough protein and
2. lifting effectively (exercises that promote hypertrophy vs strength exercises, appropriate amount of sets per body part, appropriate rep range for your body type , proper alignment and body mechanics etc.)
Based on the research I've looked at, that the "average" male can expect to gain roughly 2-4% of their initial weight in the form of muscle after 6 weeks of regular resistance exercise.
Muscle growth is not a linear process - you won't keep growing at the same rate forever. Over the course of a year, it's rare for most people to add more than 25 pounds of muscle, although you can gain more than 25 pounds which would also include fat and or water
